Mike Magidson

Mike Magidson hails from the Bay Area, where he was born in 1967, at the height of the "Summer of Love" in Oakland, California. After graduating from college, he immediately headed to Los Angeles where he starred in a series of small theater productions. Unable to pay the rent on his modest acting fees, Mike took a job as an apprentice editor at Intralink Film Graphic Design, one of Hollywood's leading trailer producers, where he began to dream of a career in filmmaking. Following his heart and a strong curiosity for French culture, Mike packed his bags in 1992 and moved to Paris, France. After several years editing for such esteemed directors as Pan Nalin, Antoine de Maximy, and Jean-Michel Carré, in 1998 Mike borrowed a friend's camera and made his award-winning first documentary, Kanada . Eleven years later, Mike has written and directed over twenty documentaries and short films. Inuk is his first narrative feature.
